“ So my experience here was pretty decent. I came here with my wife and her family. We shared fried pickles, fried alligator, and cheese sticks for appetizers which were served hot and fresh. I ended up ordering some fried shrimp that were cooked perfect. If the shrimp would have had more seasoning then my dish would have been absolutely perfect. So time for a couple complaints. Are waiter was extremely pushy with everyone. I don't need someone telling me what to drink and order when I already know and said what I want. So that was definitely irritating. I definitely recommend ordering anything other than water to drink. It has your typical coastal city water taste to it. But i definitely recommend this to anyone that is looking for a great place for seafood that also has a pretty cool atmosphere. ”

“ We finally made our way to Tookies Seafood in Seabrook. It's located at the base of the North side aka Seabrook side of the bridge on Hwy 146. There were four of us in our party so we started with the deviled eggs topped with shrimp (6 to an order) and the hush puppies (7 to an order). I really enjoy deviled eggs and these were really good. It was a first for me to have an egg topped with shrimp but it won't be the last. I'm cutting back on fried foods so I ordered the Combo under the fried section of the menu BUT I ordered it grilled. With the Combo, you pick 2 item: catfish, shrimp, chicken strips, and crawfish tails. I chose the fish and shrimp. Pretty good taste for a casual seafood restaurant. The Mrs. ordered the coconut shrimp and really liked them. Someone else in our party raves about the shrimp and grits so she ordered it again. I can tell you it looked really good!!! The service was average. We had to ask to get our glasses refilled a couple of times. They don't use cloth napkins and one paper napkin doesn't cut it. A little more attention to details would have been appreciated but when we did ask for something, we got it. These details make a difference between good and great. However, maybe we had an "average" server and the next one will be better. Bottom line - A really good casual seafood dining restaurant. We'll be back for sure. An easy 4-stars. “ Finished off a recent trip to Kemah and stopped by Tookies seafood on the way back. The location was convenient after hitting up the boardwalk with the family. They had a great selection of seafood and we tried the fried catfish platter,shrimp Po boy, grilled redfish, and calamari. The portions were very generous and the seafood was very fresh and flavorful. ”

“ My husband and I went for a late lunch today. The place is big, with different areas even a sports bar. Decor is nice. The waitress was very friendly and service is quick. We had fresh oysters and fried calamari for appetizers. The oysters felt fresh, and the calamari was ok. We also had 2 crab clusters with a loaded potato. The snow crab was delicious, seasoned with Cajun, and nutty butter. The potato was good. I would come back for more snow crab and try something else on their menu. Prices are fair. ”

“ The oysters were fresh and clean - no complaints here! I would take advantage of the happy hour pricing if possible. The mussels were salty but the bread definitely helps. The flavor of the tuna tartar is so fresh and delicious - highly recommend!! The platters are huge so share instead of ordering multiple like us the server was nice but disappeared after putting in our appetizer order, other than that nice place. ”

“ Everything was excellent. We love the boiled shrimp. You can get them chilled or warm. We got them chilled. They are so very tasty. The seasoning is so good. Not spicy, super flavorful and a very nice size. Get them! The grilled shrimp tacos are huge and full of flavor. Seriously, the best shrimp tacos I've ever had. The slaw on top was perfect. They are huge. I could only eat 2. My husband ate the last one. It came with a small portion of rice and a cup of black beans. I didn't try either of them. I was full from the tacos and shrimp. The spinach salad was fine. The shrimp on top were nice. We love this restaurant. We have never had a bad dish here. Our server Shawn was super nice and accommodating. The restaurant was clean as always. Comfortable and not too loud. No outside seating available this time but that was alright with us. There were plenty of seats available inside. ”

“ Good seafood and close to Kemah. Service and atmosphere: The restaurant is located right by the highway and with its well maintained outside is hard to miss. The inside was clean and very spacious. There was a separate bar area for a quick bite and a drink. Our server was nice and fairly attentive. Onto food and drinks: Food was good and plentiful. Our were well seasoned, however, I still needed some Tabasco for extra flavour. - Shrimp and grits - shrimp was overcooked but tasty gravy helped it and mixed well with buttery grits. - Pasta Alfredo with chicken was pretty good. Chicken was still moist and well charred. - Steak with shrimp and veggies was pretty good. Steak was cooked medium as ordered. - Oyster were fresh and deviled eggs were prepared well. Pricing: $$ - not overpriced and quality justified. ”

“ Tookie's is a favorite of my Dad's so we always go there when he's in town. They have an extensive seafood menu, a variety of delicious oysters, fried and grilled seafood dishes, lunch specials , healthier and not-so healthy options at reasonable prices. The atmosphere is family friendly. The large chair at the front is great for family photo ops. It's fairly near the water which gives the place a nice beachy feel. I get vacation vibes whenever I go. The service is consistently pretty good. Today when we went, I left my food behind and didn't realize it until we were on the elevator to leave. I rushed back in and our server smiled and told me he told the busser to give us 5 min to turnaround to retrieve it. So happy my food was still there. I hate when that happens and they throw your food away as soon as you leave. We'll continue to go to Tookie's. It's a nice reasonably priced family friendly treat. ”

“ Fantastic food and superior service! This was our first time eating at Tookie's Seafood but rest assured we will return. Our waiter took time out to share his menu favorites. Extremely excited to dive into the New Orleans grilled oysters. Fantastic! Hubby ordered the renamed Oyster Trio. Of course with him being a member of "never met an Oyster that I didn't love" he said the trio danced on his palette! LOL. Honestly, hubs enjoyed both but the trio was his favorite appetizer. We shared a grilled shrimp Caesar salad.... I had not much room remaining in my stomach. So with that said, only took a single bite. I am still enjoying this meal while making plans to return soon. ”
